I've read on the list containing all radio and television stations licensed to the nine-county San Francisco Bay Area, plus selected powerful stations from outlying areas that come in very well in the Bay Area that:
100.5 KCEQ Concord AOR/Urban; Del Valle High School Is this a for-real station? If so, how can it coexist with the ex-KEBR (whatever it's called today) on 100.5 in Sacramento, running 100kw?
Answer:
No.. Last I heard, KCEQ was at 100.7 (but this was 10 years ago) and is in Lafayette and Acalanes High School. The current Contra Costa phone book confirms the address of KCEQ at 1200 Pleasant Hill Road, which is the location of Acalanes High School.
FWIW, Del Valle High School is (was) also in Lafayette (actually Walnut Creek) right next door to Rossmoor (The mature living community) and it is NOT a high school any longer, but rather, a part of the Acalanes School District's Adult Education Program.
Now, I do know, that Wendel Pleiss, who was instrumental in getting KCEQ up and running at Acalanes back in 1981 or so, was formerly an instructor at Del Valle High School... and it might be possible that the station was there at one time.
