in the lower 1/3 (again of the general working population ) in "Verbal Aptitude" "Spatial Aptitude" "Form Perception" "Clerical Aptitude" and I reside in the bottom 10 % of the general working population in "Motor coordination" "Finger Dexterity" "Manual Dexterity" In addition to those results, My Test of adult basic education (tabe) test scores are as follows Reading 5.7 grade level Mathmatics 4.4 grade level Language 7.7 grade level.
I have an IQ of 85 Last but not least the final recommendation reads as follows "The prognosis for the participant obtaining and maintaining employment for the next 12 months is poor" Little more detail for ya, thanks for all your input.I am a very nervous person and it helps to have someone to talk to whose opinions I trust. So give me any feedback that you can.
Answer:
If these are the sole findings from VR, they won't add too much to the evaluation picture. Your IQ is within normal limits, certainly not in the retarded range. Manual dexterity is important when you are exertionally limited to sedentary (sit-down) work. If you can do more demanding work, such a light or medium work, manual dexterity is not as important. They don't say whether they believe you are limited to sed. work. There's no mention of shortness of breath or fatigue as would be expected from a pulmonary impairment; nor is there any quantitative analysis of your seven exertional capacities which SSA identifies as lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, sitting (yes, I said sitting), standing, and walking. This "workshop" was apparently not as thorough as I thought or perhaps you aren't privy to the total report.
I expect that your pulmonary MD will fill in the necessary blanks regarding your physical limitations. Also, you mentioned a mental impairment and a psychiatric CE as well as input from one of your treating MDs. I assume this in addition to the marginal IQ which is considered a psychological rather than mental impairment for SSA purposes.
A better picture could be drawn if you'd reveal your age, education, and the kind of work you did in the 15 years prior to onset date, focusing on the exertional and nonexertional demands.
