Question:
I'm looking for opinions/experiences with a specific program, so I'll take my chances.
Is anyone here familiar with the MA program in Adult Education offered by National-Louis University? The tuition for the on-line program is $411/semester hour, with a $20/semester hour residency (?) fee; that's a little--okay, a lot--steep for a 34-hour program, if it isn't a quality one!
Answer:
I don't have any experience with National-Louis, but I know Indiana University began a totally DL Master's program in Adult Education last year, and it's only about $535 per course. You may want to look into it, if just to compare the curricula.
As usual, there are two issues: legitimacy (more objective) and quality (more subjective). No one would ever challenge the legitimacy of a regionally accredited university.
And then, within "quality" we have the two often-unrelated factors of usefulness and reputation. The first is purely personal. The second is, for National-Louis, sort of 'in between' from what I gather. Not world class. But not second rate. Pure subjectivity here.
My real concern would be the rumor that they are planning a merger with Louis Pasteur University in France, and will become National Louis-Louis University.
