Question:
After years of discussion, the Marion County School Board decided to name a new school to be built this year after a local soldier who gave his life to save his fellow soldiers in 1969. The Hammett L. Bowen Jr. school to open next year.
I was at the Marion County School Board meeting last night. It was standing room only as people made their feelings known about the name of the new school.
Any ideas or suggestions for me???

What a list of boring names! The school system where I grew up had a bunch of schools named after presidents. Jefferson and Roosevelt are two that I remember, but there were 30+ other schools. The special education school for handicapped students was named for Thomas Edison.
