The courses in this certificate program will give educators and trainers the skills necessary for meeting the needs of adult learners as well as provide them with a deeper awareness and understanding of the special issues involved in adult learning.
Any teacher, instructor, educator, or trainer who presents information to adults will benefit from completing this program. This includes, but is not limited to, individuals who conduct training sessions in their workplace, computer instructors who have all the technical skills but lack teaching abilities, college instructors who are knowledgeable in their subject but again who lack teaching skills, individuals who deliver presentations or present seminars, and anyone who is interested in the field of adult education.

This five week course is designed to help you plan and produce effective lesson plans for your field of study. It focuses on the various models for teaching and for learning, on writing clear learning objectives, and on the essential parts necessary for an effective lesson. Participants will be given the opportunity to put all of their new learning from this course into practice by planning and producing a lesson plan of their own in a specific field of study.
