I am a speech pathologist that has recently been moved to a school that has a number of children that are either diagnosed with Autism or exhibit autistic tendencies. I have a couple of questions: 1. What are the current methods that appear to be working with these very special and wonderful children? 2. Are there any centers in the Denver area that specialize in treating these kids/

I'm not familiar with the Denver area, as I am located in SE Florida, however fyi, Reaching Potentials is sponsoring a conference in February which is approved by the Continuing Education Board of the American Speech- Language Hearing Association. This program is offered for 1.1 CEU's, Intermediate Level, Professional Area by ASHA.
Lerner Objectives: 1. Evaluate Various Treatment Options 2. Determinw who is competent to deliver &Supervise behavioral intervention 3. Integrate speech-language therapy with behavioral intervention 4. Seek sources of possible funding for intense behavior intervention 5. Participate in home-based programs 6. Assess integration options in typical school settings 7. Advocate for the most effective services
