Question:
Can anyone reccomend a place that offers cooking classes in the Boston area. I'm looking to give the classes as a Christmas gift to a friend. If possible I would like it to be a class on a specific regional type of cooking as opposed to general cooking classes; maybe Italian, Chinese, Thai, French.
Answer:
he Cambridge Center for Adult Education has all sorts of fun classes, from one-day specials to eight-week courses. I think the Boston Center for Adult Ed does also.
For the serious, there is the Cambridge School of Culinary Arts in N. Cambridge -- bet...@shore.net http://www.shore.net/~betsys bet...@cs.umb.edu http://www.cs.umb.edu/~betsys
The Brookline Adult Education also offers a wide variety of cooking classes. Some are one day courses , others over a period of 3 or 4 weeks. I have taken many (mediterranean, chinese, desserts, etc...) and the instructors have been very good. If you request to be the instructor's assistant you get to go to the class for free (you just pay for the food fee). You do have to show up earlier than the students and help the instructor set up everything, assist him during the class and organize the clean-up (everyone has to pitch in). Liliana Dugand de Celedon
