Question:
Do you know the way to San Jose?
San Jose City College has a beginning woodworking class. You and therest of the class make a router table for a project. The main thinsyou get is access to big toys, I mean tools. It's either two nights aweek or on Saturdays, so convenient if you work and have nothing goingon weeknights.
The Metropolitan Adult Education Ceanter on Hillsboro has a Cabinetmakingclass, but you have to take some basic woodworking classes first. This ison Hillsboro near the fork with Camden.
I sure hope this is posted locally, or were going to be wasting a lot ofbits in a lot of computers all over the world. It's often amusing to readpeoples posts about neat store in their town, I might get there some daywho knows...
Answer:
I learned a lot about woodworking and got to use a lot of tools bytaking a class at Mission College. The price has gone up a lot,and I took all the classes I could, so now I'm on my own (i.e., Ihave to buy my own tools). The instructor when I took the classalso teached an adult education class at Yerba Buena High (Tuesdaysand Thursdays, I think). If you get a lot of inputs, please post.
BTW, when looking for the class in the Mission catalog, try lookingunder ceramics, or maybe art. I think the class is called furnituredesign and construction, or something similar, and it is part of theart department.
Thanks,
