Question:
I have been considering a PhD in Adult Education via DL. I am mainlyinterested in the British-type PhD programs. I have Dr. Bear's book(excellent, I must add) but could use a little advice to help speed up mysearch. My problem is I hold an MBA from a US regional accredited school.Unfortunately, going the adult education route makes the MBA somewhat lessuseful or so I would believe.
Does anyone know of a reputable school that would accept the MBA towardsearning the PhD? Or has anyone been able to earn a business PhD slantedtowards adult ed?
Answer:
Your MBA may be acceptable if the doctoral program has a significantmanagement content. Alternatively, your bachelor's degree may sufficeif its content is consistent with that of the research programconcerned. In such latter case, the GPA would by significant.
I would suggest that you contact a few colleges and inquire what theirspecific research interests are. Then, if yours coincides with any,you may be in luck.
However, I don't know of any doctoral research programs that may becompleted entirely off-campus. You referred to a "British-type PhDprogram." Were you thinking of registering for one with a UKuniversity?
