Question:
I friend at work who is too shy for USENET asked about cooking classes, especially in the East Bay.
I've taken a few at Sur la Table (expensive but fun), and I know about theweekend classes at CCA (also expensive).
Craigslist has some cooking class listings as well.
Any experience with Home Chef classes?
Any other good sources?
Answer:
There are cooking classes offered by most East Bay Park & Rec. Departments orDistricts and by most of the School Districts in their Adult Educationbranches.
For example, Pleasant Hill Park & Rec. District has some very good classes atreasonable prices. The City of Orinda Park & Rec. has good classes. WestContra Costa has some very inexpensive and fun cooking classes on Saturdays.Piedmont Adult has a full schedule of cooking classes.
All of these entities have brochures and mailers, free for the asking. Mosthave their classes listed or described on their web sites.
Finally, if your friend is willing to drive to Sonoma, there is Ramekins.
